The Mossberg bolt actions were plain, sturdy and reliable. They were the gun of the working stiff- the mechanic, farmer, store keeper- and the first shotgun for many a young hunter. The prices on most are ridiculously low. Have 12s, 20s and 410s, and gave a 20 g Mossy to my future son-in-law for Christmas- to replace what was his first shotgun that he lost long ago.

it is a very sturdy shotgun. very simple as well. even with the hard plastic buttplate, the recoil is actually quite gentle. i shot about five rounds through it yesterday afternoon, and it's quite pleasant to shoot. i think i will get a lot of enjoyment out of thei shotgun.
