Default NO is the correct answer!!!

1.75" shotgun shells will NOT cycle thru even a pump shotgun's magazine and action reliably. 2-3/4" min. Those silly short shells can really only be used in single/double barrel break-actions. Everyone wants to squeeze maximum capacity out of their guns -- short shells don't do it. Sorry!

Speaking of 870's, I have the express super mag with the 3 1/2 chamber, and I've Ben trying to find out if I can use the pdx1 without changing my barrel there is no riffling in the barrel and I'm not sure if I can fire slugs with riffling on them. It is the same barrel that was on it when I bought it brand new. And if I can use those shells in it do I need to take my choke out?

I'm still unsure of the safety matter of shooting slugs in tight chokes. They usually perform best in an improved cylinder. I see a choke debate coming...

I'll take the choke out that's not a problem. It's the barrel I'm worried about. I don't won't to warp it or something.

You can shoot rifled slugs in an improved choke. Pdx1 is just a slug with shot added, right? Should be no problem. I don't know about shooting with no choke tube at all, your not doing that are you?

I've never used slugs. I've always heard you can't use them in some barrels. I will get an improved choke. But I'm trying to find out if I can use the same barrel.

Some one gave me a box of a the mini slugs and they would not come close to cycling properly through either one of my mossberg 500's.
