Default Moron shotgun shell question

Merry Christmas to all.

Ok, i think i know the answer but you guys can help me for sure.

Normally i shoot with a 2 3/4 36 load 12 gauge shell

However I just got 2 boxes that are 2 3/4 34 load.

Does this literally mean they are just slightly less powerful?

If so, how much less?

Thanks

SoL

Actually, I believe it means they have slightly less weight of shot. 2/36th less actually. The 36 gram are very close to what would be 1-1/4 ounce loads, or what are generally called heavy field loads, and the 34 gram are fairly close to 1-3/16 ounce loads which we rarely see in the U.S., except in 20 gauge.
Power to me is much more a function of powder charge than shot weight.

i see,

so in effect it's just a unjustifiably worse shotshell?

as i said it's always been 36g in my experience,

why the hoorj would a shop owner give me these as the unspecified default?

I'm sure they'll be fine and the difference may be negligible, but its just a weird thing to do in my opinion

PS, thanks for the answer, even if it took nearly 70 people looking to get one.

You will not notice a difference. If you miss, It'll almost certainly be your fault, not the load.
