Merry Christmas to me.
Finally got my 870. Start to modify this thing tomorrow. First thing is to replace that brick recoil pad with a supercell.

Santa couldn't of brought you a better shotgun.
Good choice on the recoil pad. The best 18 bucks I spent on my shotguns.

my brother has the 870 super mag and his came with the supercell. I dont know why remington doesnt put them on all of their guns. thats one of the things I dont like about Remington, they have all of these really nice features but do not offer them on all of their guns, just one feature on one gun.

I changed out the brick to the supercell, that is a 100% improvement.

Remington is no different from most manufacturers. They'll say it's to cut cost on the product so that the consumer is getting the best price for the product. In all reality it's a marketing ploy to get instant repeat business from the consumer.

Congratulations! It's a great shotgun. I bought an 870 Express to learn the shotgun basics with and I love it, I'm seriously considering one of the nicer Wingmaster models.

the wingmaster was what I wanted as well but thats out of my price range for a shotgun. As of now anyway. I got this one just for turkey shoots and skeet/trap that kind of thing.
I had considered getting the wingmaster furniture for mine but ive decided to leave it the way it is, that wood is too nice to be on one of my guns.
