does anyone much about a lothar-walther despatcher adapter? it is an adapter for a 12ga. that fires .38 special. anyone know the value?

this is the only description i could find on lothar-walther's site i don't understand the "shot dispersion" part.

Accuracy 35mm at 5 meters. Not a precision target arm. Used to administer the coup de grace to a downed critter at point blank range. Basically, an adapter that look like a shot shell, chambers in a shotgun like a shell. A subcaliber chamber.

thank you. so basically shot groups with in 35 mm at 5 meters?

i have an old single shot break open shot gun with a very pitted barrel it will fire but i dont shoot it. it was free. i saw one of these adapters in a shop and thought maybe of putting it in that gun for an interesting short range weapon to plink with every now and then. thoughts?

Would not use one of those- .38 Special and shotshells run very different pressures. There ARE shotshell adapters (the Four Tenner is perhaps on the best known) that lets you run .410 shells in a 12- but with the price of .410 ammo.......

ive seen the four tenner its a nice little insert but i already have a .410. no need for another

i just saw the .38 adapter and thought it might be a cheap alternative for a free shotgun that i will other wise not use.

but that's why i asked. thank you.

ill save my money for some other gun instead
