Oh ok well if that's the case what exactly is the diffrence? I also kinda thought they were basicly throw aways. Maybe I can pick up a shorter barreled 88 and a used 500 or 870

IIRC, the biggest difference is the trigger groups. there are some other minor differences, but most parts and accessories for the 500 will fit the 88.

they are not throwaways by any means, they are just not as pretty as some other shotguns, but perform quite well. i am on my second one and have had no problems out of either one.

I love my maverick. Some people are skeptical of them because of the price, but I love mine and haven't had a single problem with it. Go for it!!

Oh and by the way the parts for the M88 are made in Mexico, hence the lower price. Nothing wrong with the M88s

Everything that will fit a 500 will fit the 88, minus the trigger group I beliebe

buttstocks will work fine. but from what i have found out, the fore end stock for a 500 would have to be slightly modified to fit the 88.

I recommend the 870. I also suggest buying an after market recoil pad such as limbsaver, paclymer or Remington supercell pad because slugs putt of an 870
