Default Lever action shotgun

Is any maker currently making one? I'm getting ready to purchase another gun and this would definately be on my list. I have shotguns in everyother configuration but lever and O/U. I think a lever would be cool and gauge wouldn't matter too much. 12, 16 or 20 fine. 28 and .410 I'd have to think about.

I don't know if they still do, but Norinco made a reproduction of the Winchester model 1887 in 12ga that they called the "cowboy 1887" hope that helps.

AFAIK they're still being imported through IAC. Not sure how they get around the Chinese gun ban. There's still plenty available through gunbroker anyway.

Wouldn't be interested in a gun made in China.

I did find that in 2003 Marlin made a run of model 410 levers. They were an updated version of gun made in the 20s by Marlin. Looks like they run in the $700-$800 range. That would be the absolute to of my range for my next gun and I don't know if I would want to go that high on a shotgun.

Winchester also made a 410 on the model 94 action. Last year was 2006.

Don't knock the Chinese guns till you try one.

I make my living in manufacturing. It pains me to buy anything Made in China. If I have a choice, I buy American.

I can understand that but there is so much stuff that isn't made here it pretty much makes it impossible so it doesn't bother me anymore. If I want something I don't care where it's made.

Chinese guns suck! They feel so light and cheep.. Ive had toy guns that had a better feel to them. Ive only shot the Chinese SKS's and AK's but maybe im spoiled cause I got a Russian one.....

Winchester had some '94 style lever guns chambered in .410 and Armi Chiappa (Italian company) makes reproductions of the Winchester 1887 lever gun
