you're starting a "ford vs chevy" or "AK vs AR" type argument here. but i'll throw in my 2 cents. using them is what wears them out. if you're constantly loading them and then unloading them, the spring will wear out faster. the original 10 round mag that came with my semi .22 rifle that i bought 8 or 9 years ago is almost too soft to cycle the rounds anymore, but the newer ones still work fine.
