I still have the bead as well. I'm not a huge fan of it, but I haven't gotten around to changing it yet. I'm probably going to replace it with a tritium big dot sight, and just mount a picantany rail on it and use that as a sighting system.

pretty green, but I like it. I don't think it needs to be said but green is the best color. I am going to paint my stock and forend green, when i get around to it.
Finding sights for a mossberg 500 can be kind of a bitch. I posted a thread about it already. Theres not as many options as a Remington 870.
I originally wanted a ghost ring sighting system, but the Mossberg Ghost ring set is $80. On top of that the front sight needs to be silver soldered onto the barrel. A gunsmith quoted me about $100-150 for that.
After a lot of searching and research, I've come to decide that a tritium front sight and a picantany rail will work just fine. Also i have the option to use a red dot/holographic.

agreed 100% with you there brother
i'm gonna throw a cheapie reflex sight up there, they have a tru glo at dicks for ~$40. that way if it breaks or i dont like it, i wont be out too much money.
i'm gonna order the tritium sight tomorrow at work, that way i can get paid to research who has the cheapest price shipped, lol. i'll post a link from the site i go with.
EDIT-green is my favorite color, so almost all of my guns have some sort of green on them. it's actually a little darker than the pic, the flash lit it up a bit

You should try that compstock by blackhawk. You can get a new one off Amazon.com for like 40-50 bucks. I think it's a nice option for someone who likes rifle stocks. It's a blackhawk product so its good quality, but its only 40 bucks so if you don't like it then no big loss. You will defiantly like it though.

Looking forward to seeing it. Do you recall who makes the picantany rail you have? I'm painting my gun later today! Pics up later

If you use a Knoxx get the PowerPak so you get a good cheek weld while using an optic. Otherwise your cheek weld will be too low to line up properly. I am loving the combonation at close to 1000 rounds of 00 and slugs down range .

I am looking into getting the power pak. For a few reasons, one being for an optic. The second reason to avoid that cheek slap that happens every once in a while.
