The company that built that gun, Winchester Repeating Arms, is long gone. FN bought the rights to the name and is making the new Brownchesters. I would bet all the old left over parts got sold to Numrich a loooong time ago.

Well, even if the gun is only worth fifty dollars, they're tools. If it was me, I would fix it and not worry on value so much.

No its worth roughly 250 in working condition. Its not now, so I wanted to get a broken one (in a different spot) and just use the receiver on mine. That way mine works. Just wondering if it HAD to be a ranger 140. Or if it could be a 1400, 1300, etc

1300 is a pump, and so is the 1200, so those are a definite no. I believe the 1400s and 140s are mechanically the same, but I am no Winchester semi expert.
