What length barrel do you currently have?

You can buy barrels online for pretty reasonable prices.

You really don't need much else. I actually prefer a regular buttstock instead of a pistol grip. A light might be useful. Then get out and pattern the ammo that you intend to use, and find a load you like. I really like the performance and patterning of Federal Flight Control 00Buck and Hornady Critical defense 00 Buck. I've been trying to locate the new Federal #1 Buck Flight Control load, but haven't found any yet.

Just get a Laserlyte tri rail adapter and a rail mounted flashlight. Maybe a Nebo190. Quick cheap and it works. I have it on my baby and has never budged, and keeps working. The adapter is $30and the light is $50.

OP, lose the pistol grip (maybe replace it with a SpeedFeed +4, spare shell-holding, rear stock presuming the forearm is black) and just put Mossberg's standard 18-1/2" barrel on it. Good to go...

Agreed on Mossy's standard 18.5" barrel, but i like my standard stock with a pistol grip. I did add a side-saddle shell holder, but that isn't an absolute need.

The heatshield thing is just goofy; i tried one.

I beg your pardon but it's no such thing. Maybe in East New York, but that's not really representative. Now pull up your pants...
