Ithaca m37

Just inherited a Ithaca m37 16 gauge. Don't know anything about it, it says full on the side of the barrel, assuming thats the choke, correct me if i'm wrong. according to the serial # it was made around 1955-1956. i want to try it out, it takes 16 2-3/4. are any shells i should use over others? any to avoid all together? also whats the capacity. thanks

Your best bet is to try several different makes. I would start out with 7 ˝ s. I have a Model 37 Featherlight 12 that my deceased brother bought in 1956 and it doesn’t seem to make much difference what make of shells I use. It depends if there is a plug in your gun, most do, as to how many shells you can load. Usually just three. Yours does have a full choke.

One of the best pump shotguns ever made. Take good care of it!

Step one, go to Home of The Ithaca Gun Company and download you a free owner's manual.
