Default HD shotgun sight question

Hey guys I have a question on HD sight question. I have an H&R pardner pump and I want to put on a picitany rail and a set of xs ghost ring sights that are made for the 870. Im wondering if anyone has done this with a pardner pump before?

For HD purposes a bead is a pretty fast sight. Ghost rings come into their own when having to extend distance or precision. Not familiar enoug with teh Pardner pumps to know if they come drilled and tapped already. I know my 870 is not. A red dot or a bead is about as fast of a sight as you can get. The only real advantage you get out of the red dot is low light capability.

If you want a ghost ring, I don't see why it would be any harder to do than the same drilling and taping as would be done on an 870. Also Attaching a matching front sight, either a bolt on or a silver soldered sight.

It is drilled and tapped but it is not the same as the 870 from what I can see. I want to put ghost sights on and a tac rail so I can put a red dot on it as well.

I'd honestly recommend shooting it with the bead sight for a while. As you add stuff, the gun gets heavier, has more stuff to snag, more stuff to break, and less handy.

If it just in the home at 7 yards or less stick with the bead but consider a tritium bead. A shotgun needs to be simple. You could clamp a flashlight or laser to the tube or barrel and use it for an aiming device but you are going to be battery dependent. At 7 yards my shotgun is dead on with the bead.

A light, a sling and a way to carry ammo is about as exotic as I get.

Ive been looking around trying to answer my question on a few other forms and came across one about the reason for the bead on the shotgun and I have come to the info that I have read on the other sites that something like an xs big dot sight is much better upgrade then ghost rings will be.

A good visible bead is pretty fast.
