just picked up a remington premier upland gun and took it out to shoot sporting clays today. towards the end, the gun would automatically put the safety on after the first shot, any ideas why?

After 62 years of hunting and shooting the best advice I can give you is to take it to competent gunsmith and have it looked at. Don’t mess around, you have a good gun so don’t screw it up.
