True enough, but the statement was the m3 was the fastest and the initial question was about a home defense, light field gun. No mention of tactical....

I personally bought the FN and love it.

Actually, there was no mention of "light field gun" in the OP:

looking for a good semi auto shotgun mainly for recreation and home defense i kinda like the mossberg 935 magnum 12 guage autoloader
Patrick Flanigan's speed record-setting SX3 has a 28" barrel, and is 49" overall, and he was using very light target loads.

I submit that a gun that long, and light target loads, would not make for a good home defense gun. Way too big for home defense use, and light target loads are insufficient for defensive purposes.

So a Benelli M2-3-4 or your FN, would be FAR better choices for home defense. And I can assure you that Benelli's are great fun for recreational shooting.

Default Remington 1100

My father has had a remington 1100 for over 20 years now. He has killed over 1000 geese and ducks along the atlantic causeway with it over the years. He is older now, and is a guide for me whenever we go out together. Before he had it, my uncle had it for ten years. It is over 20 years old, and still shoots fine. It can shoot bird loads, geese loads, and slugs. It may be a bit pricier than the 870 but it is a workhorse and will serve you well. I've hunted in temperatures of -10 degrees fahrenheit with it and it still fired! Hope this helped.

Default Winchester Super X-2 practictal tactical shotgun

Some years age I bought a Winchester Super X-2 Practictal Tactical 12 ga. shotgun and It's been a real good semi auto shotgun. It holds 9+1 2 3/4" shells and will aslo chamber 3" sellls as well but with less in the tube than 2 2/4" The Super X-3 is not available in a tactical shotgun configuration as far as I know of. Too bad I would like to see the X-3 in this configuration.
