Default Gladius Mach 3

I decided to start bird hunting. I have been a hunter most my life, but never bird hunting. So, I bought a new shotgun today. An Italian made Gladius Mach 3. I opted for the 2 round magazine to meet German semi-auto hunting laws.
It only cost me 575 Euros..not bad.

My LGS website says this about the shotgun. I had to translate.

For hunters who like to shoot "triplets" or simply want to still have a shot in reserve - and all at a very reasonable price. Pleasant recoil by gas charging system.
• Caliber: 12/76
• Running: 71cm, 8mm ventilated rib, Mobilchoke (1/4, 1/2, 3/4, 1/1)
• With steel shot
• System: Gas operated, magazine capacity of 2 cartridges
• Safety: trigger safety by push button in the trigger guard

Now I need to clean off all the dried oil gook...

Nice looking shotgun Jager. Looks a lot like a Remington 11-87 with a better finish. Enjoy.

Is this your first shotgun? I like it, I have never heard of Gladius before. I don't think I've ever heard of a bad Italian shotgun. Will she also shoot 3" and 3 1/2"?

Nice scatter gun. Congrats.

It says two round magazine. Is that permanent or is the magazine plugged for two rounds? I ask because it looks like it should hold five or so.

It is my first hunting shotgun. I also own a Mossberg 590 Mariner. It does not shoot 3.5 shells. It shoots 70 and 76 mm shells only. (2.5 and 3 inch shells I believe is the equivalent.)

You are correct. I can also buy it in a 5 magazine (unplugged) version, but then it can only be used for sporting.

I see. Well is it legal for you to remove the plug if you wanted to sport with it?
