CTOAU, I would suggest the 500, a Maverick 88, or the 870. All will do what you want it to do, and all of them are available as combos with a hunting and an HD barrel. All three have a decent aftermarket following, (The 88 is a less expensive rebranded 500) and all three, new or used with one or both barrels, are well within your budget.
Don't knock the 88. I had one for over 20 years that is now being used by a friend's son as his primary hunting shotgun. Lower cost doesn't a;ways mean cheap in a bad way. if I had to narrow the choices down to one, the 88 would be a strong contender.
