Default fiberoptic sight overhang

I recently picked up a mossy 500 with a fiberoptic sight and i noticed that the threads for the sight hang down into the barrel. My question is can i just file it down or do i need to do something else. Heres a pic

Shoot it just like it is. In short order the shot will file the sight down for you.

A shrug of the shoulders. Sure, sounds like a plan to me.

I don't think lead or plastic will wear a steel screws away. and its in the choke .you need shorter screws.

I have a single shot nef 20 ga that has a factory bead and you can see where the bead goes in by looking Dow the barrel, it also snags on cleaning mops, I shoot it a lot and its never hurt anything, it's a fixed choke barrel though
