Pump guns- There are a more than a few quality out there. Hard to pick just one.

O/U- I'm partial to Berettas. For full disclosure, I don't own a shotgun over about 3g.

Autos- Benelli by far. By far.

i have had a remington 870 express for 11 years now, it has never failed to go bang when i pulled the trigger other than when i was using some bad reloads my friend made up and ive put nearly 10,000 rounds through it in that time. my brother had a mossberg 500 and when he went to basic training i took it out to give it a try shooting trap. long story short i nearly threw it under my truck and ran it over after one round, it felt cheap and poorly made and i couldnt get used to where the safety was positioned on top of the receiver.
everyone who i hunt with has an 870, several are wingmasters that were bought over 30 years ago and they are all amazing guns, there hasnt been a single issue with any of them other than when my friend thought he was a gunsmith and tried his hand at engraving, purely a cosmetic issue after that.

Mine was the Mossberg 500 but the Beneilli Supernova Tactical is oh so smooth.

Throwing in my .02, you can’t go wrong with the Remington 870 for an all-around no-s*it go to gun!

aint nothing wrong with the mossburg 500 or the remington 870 express if you remembr it as a solid entry level gun my first car was a 64 vw bug but i shure like driving porsch start where you can and pick the right tool for the job and get to know your tool [you guys know that]
