Father and Son Remington 870 combo

Just curious what yall thought on value here. I have a pair of Remington shotguns. The first is an 870 Express Magnum Combo 12 gauge with 28" and 21" barrels, and a 870 Express .410 They have the exact same finish, and both are in like new condition and weren't used much. Just wondering what yall thought honest market value would be. I've checked gunbroker and armslist and other online sales sites, the general price range was higher than I had estimated and the average was roughly $1000 for the pair. I thought it would make a good father and son combo deal since they both look the same. I'd also throw in the DMC Hard case that holds 2 long guns.

If you get $1,000 for those you definitely need to go in the used car business. I would consider $500 good. There are just so many of them out there, and finding someone who wants a 410 and a 12 is problematic.

Too true. You can pick up either one of these guns barely used in a pawn shop for $250ish.

I think you both are under estimating something in the 410. It is one of the most popular choices for a kids first shotgun, and it is actually quite rare to find the 870 410 for sale. There was only 1 on Gunbroker for a 3 week period that was the same gun. The 870 Wingmaster 410 sells for about $600-$1000 based on condition. The 870 Express 410's on there now are sitting with bids at $400+ with several days to go. I've turned down offers of up to $375 because you simply can't buy one for that price. If you have a pawn shop that has one in like new condition for $250, please point me towards it so I can buy them all and make some easy money.

And the 870 Express Magnum Combo 12 gauge also sells for an average just over $500 used. These aren't Mossbergs!

An Express is not a Wingmaster either. I guess little guns are just cheaper down here in Louisiana.

Oh trust me I know. If it was a Wingmaster I'd put it on Gunbroker since it's like new. I watched one sell for $900 last week.

Either way General, prove 'em wrong and get that $1,000! No reason to ask and argue when they give you their opinion. The 870 Express is such a reliable and well made arm, with an extra barrel and that rare .410 will get a premium commensurate with their quality over a simple ol' Mossberg. Shut those guys' dirty mouths and live large!

Either way, no matter who's right or wrong, NOW'S the market to sell into -- you'll never get more!! Hey, maybe if you stand outside The Moonlight Bunny Ranch and offer 'em for sale to the customers...

Now go get that windfall, and some satisfaction, then come back and tell us how ya did!!!

I accepted an offer from a guy in Alabama for $450 + shipping on the .410

There ya go! Now just get $550 for the used 12 ga. 870 Express and show those doubting Thomas' who's top of the GB food chain! You might do better selling the extra barrel separately.

BTW, how much was the FFL fee?

I hope you do but I don't think you will get $550 for the 12 gauge maybe $350 but I hope you the best brother
