Does anyone have a Keltec
I'm looking at buying the Keltec KSG 12/18.5 14+1 TOP PIC RAIL for my son who is turning 18. Does anyone have any first hand knowledge with this gun? It looks amazing but I want something that actually is badass for him. Not just the run of the mill 12ga (although that's what I have.)

I'm hearing people having issues with them. At about a 1 in 4 rate. Then on top of that they are way over priced right now. There are more "bad ass" shotguns out there. Granted they won't hold 12 to 14 rounds. Also the practicality of that gun. There isn't any in most states you can only be able to hold 3 shells.

saiga 12 with 20 round drum is a much better tacticool type shotgun. ive actually shot one and was quite impressed with it.
here is a vid of a guy cranking off 100 rounds semi auto using 5 20 round drums

This is what I've been hearing as well. I wanted one for home defense but I would hold out for the prices to get down to an acceptable level and for Kel Tec to work out the bugs before I'd consider buying one.

I think it would be a lousy choice... I say that because it would not be a good gun for much other than short range can popping and home defense... The barrel is quite short so your shot would spread so fast at any range you wouldn't get many of the pellets on target and even if you could the gun has a capacity way above legal volume. Maybe it makes me lame but my 870 will put just as many bbs in an intruder but I can also use it for hunting, trap, and HD... No offense, I simply thing that 800 bucks or more could be better spent elsewhere...

Already have a Mossberg 590A1 shotgun. But I sure would like to own a Kel Tec 2000 Sub 9mm.

The Kel-Tec KSG (if you can find one) has an MSRP of about $850. They're going for more than that. Much more. I saw an auction for one on Bud's that was up around $1500 last month. That's too much for a pump SG and way too much for a Kel-Tec.
I think you'd be a lot better off going with a nice $1000 auto-loader, like an FN SLP or Benelli M2. I guess they won't be as "unique" as the KSG...so you'll just have to settle for them being "better".
