I go to the skeet range to SHOOT a pump for my entertainment. Or a sxs, or an auto, or an o/u,....broke an incomer on 7 with a flintlock pistol once. Talk about having to maintain follow-through, it was pull/bang/flash/smoke.....wait for it...boom! Took two tries but I hit it.
I might watch someone shuck a trombone-gun just to see how good he was at it, but only if they are on my squad. Entertainment, it ain't. YMMV

I'm pretty sure you can get individual parts for your old A-5 on midwayusa.com. what year is your gun?

It's can be entertaining but not in a standard round of skeet. Most ranges allow members time to just goof off with the towers.

I don't know where they went but in days gone by there was a trick shooter on every corner. Now if the guy isn't touted in the media no one cares to see him. I believe the media driven concept sells guns to experienced shooters but it does nothing for new shooters. New shooters respond when a factory shooter spends just a few minutes with them. There are people who have a gift for teaching. They are not hanging around every range either.

And those of us that just want to have a good time attempting to bust clays and making new friends, I hope!

1988 - Browning A-500 - it was the first AAA shotgun - Any shell, Any time, Any where and Remington later came out w the first 1187 which also had 23/4 & 3" capability.

John Deer : Brohter you are not alone, I grew up watching and admiring the better shooters go through their paces. This very week I brough a new shooter, two autos and one pump to the skeet range. Since we had the range to ourselves, we just had fun running the bases (Station 1, 8, 7) w autos and pump. You could load 3 w/o someone having a heart attack. Miss - no problem, reload, try again.

You feel like you really earned your double when using a pump. We had an informal range for about an hour before other shooters came and we had to return to formal skeet.
