I agree, the Mossberg safety is far better than the " pellet gun" style safety of the others. Not as much aftermarket parts support as the Remington, but all in all a reliable shotgun to just leave as is

Thanks for the feedback. I was able to find Remington 870s and Winchester SXP defender. No Mossbergs in sight unless i went 20 gauge.

Went with the Defender. The Remington's they had only held 4+1 the Winchester is 5+1.

They also had a Remington 887 (I think) but it had a design flaw for me. The pump release button is in a place where your finger can get pinched as you pump the action.

Glad I was able to get a quality shotgun without having to overpay. Kudos to Academy, they are about the only place left that have not increased prices.
Now I just need to go shoot it.
