I'd recommend getting a folding stock for your "cruiser" type shotgun. I replaced the pistol grip on my home defense Rem 870 with a top folder. You still have the handiness of a pistol grip shotgun but when folded out our accuracy has vastly improved.

I keep one in my car often. Kicks like a mule and isnt the funnest to shoot, but itll work in a jam.

Yeah, I heard that Cruiser Shotguns got there name from being compact enough for a vehicle. I actually never heard of anyone but truck drivers having it in their vehicles (I heard truck drivers gave this shotgun the Cruiser name). Yeah, I took it to the range. It isn't too fun to shoot (the recoil surprised me), but it is easy to handle in tight spaces, and faster to deploy than a traditional shotgun, therefore I choice it for home defense.
