You didn't go wrong with that purchase and stayed well under your budget. I think the best value for a light bird gun IMHO would be a Franchi AL48 in 20. They are LIGHT I saw one for 675 the other day and am considering buying it for my son. I bought a franchi renaissance 20 about 3 years ago and love it as my bird gun but they run around 1200.
