What a coincidence I was looking for a shotgun to take camping too. Where do you usually go camping?

I got upstate in the catskills, or sometimes by the delaware water gap.

I just remembered, a KelTec SU16 .223 is also an option. I had one and it fits inside a large backpack when folded. It takes AR mags as well.

now you see mr. jodaplumber has the right idea. get a gun for everything
seriously, maybe a used remington 870 in 12 gauge. you can mod it to be short and light, and then change it back for non-camping activities. stoeger coach guns are good too.

An old Mossberg Mod. 183K .410 that someone cut down the barrel to 18". If it gets stolen, broken, or lost it doesn't matter - I got it for free 30 yrs. ago. With slugs it will kill anything at close range, and with 3" shells with No. 4 shot it will take any small game.

for years my camp gun was a mossburg 12g with 18" barrel, parkerized, with ghost ring sights and magnaported. corse all of my camping was in bush alaska so may not be ideal for you.

I use an old single barrel hammer 12 gauge shotgun. 26 inch barrel rebounding hammer. I do a lot of canoe camping. Water can cause slide safeties to stiffen up. It's cheap. practically fool proof, and uses any 12 gauge ammo. only slightly over 36 inches in length also. Modern plastic shotgun shells are waterproof in my experience.

It's pretty hard to argue with 2 barrels worth of 12 ga. ass kicking. How do you kill zombies in every first person shooter ever made?

I'm hell bent on getting one of those Double Defenses with an EOTech.

Can't argue with that. The double barrel has dropped more zombies than any rail gun or BFG9000.

I'm just debating on either a Stoeger Coach Gun or another Remington 870 with the shortened barrel and ext. mag.
