Ya I buy a bunch of tulammo for my SKS since that's the main kind they sell there and that milspec 00. Occasionally they get some pdx1 slugs in and I'll buy those!

The walmart near me has had a TON of great deals on ammo lately. I like to support the local guys too, but it's hard to pass up on some of their deals. They had reusable 400 round cans of federal 5.56 for under $250. They also sell tons of the mil spec 00 buck.

Ya I'm down to support the local guy too. But there's really only 1 that sells ammo and he keeps it priced high!

Never did see the point of a couple hundred rounds of buck either. Not unless I was doing some testing to determine which one I was going to stock up on. Even then the most I keep around is about 50 per gauge max. If anything I stocked up on slugs until 3 years ago, they were all we could hunt deer and bear with in my county. The only reason I had a couple hundred slugs around was resale. You would be surprised how many folks wait until the night before opening day to go out to buy them, and find the shelves empty.

Let's see, $5 a box retail, 50% "idiot" mark up, cash only..........

and just how many BG's are you expecting to break into your home at one time? a few dozen? a couple of hundred?

i keep about 2025 OO buckshot and about the same in slugs. if i shoot some, then i replace them. i see no need to keep that amount of buckshot.

i do keep a couple of hundred of various birdshot loads on hand.

I have about 500 buckshot shells. 25 on an ammo belt 5 in the tube and 5 slugs on the stock. If you ever get into some real down and dirty stuff you'll need the extra ammo. But I've never heard of a home invasion involving the homeowner barricading himself in and needing 500 rounds. That's more for a SHTF situation... A real one involving civil unrest and looting. Not a tinfoil hat one.

Like after Katrina where the cops confiscated all privately owned firearms?

Its for shtf. Nothing lasts forever so I'd rather have it and not need it than need it and not have it!
