Default Browning BT-99

I would like to buy a dedicated trap gun and I am strongly considering a BT-99. Is this a good choice? I understand they make this in a micro BT-99 also. Is this suitable for a woman? thanks for your advice.

Default Browning Bt-99 Trap shotgun

BT-99 is a classic single shot trap gun and has the weight (8+lbs) to permit shooting 25 to 50 birds at one session with ease. Look at the SemiAuto, O/U, and Pump Trap models that fire more than one round and are built to handle the heavy usage. Field weight models (6-7lbs) are lighter and will be very uncomfortable shooting the Trap sessions of 25-50+ rounds. The BT-99 is well made, a great trap gun and very popular with trap shooters. Talk to the members of local trap clubs as they will be a wealth of info on their sport. Good luck.

I have one, The guy I bought it off of put a greycoil recoil stock on it. Recoil is very manageable, its very possible to sit down with two cases of shells and bust birds all day long.

Well, I've never shot ATA, I just shoot trap for fun, but I sure love my BT99. Strong action, doubt you can wear one out unless you are stupid enough to not lubricate it. Good balance, nice trigger, as long as it fits you (and they seem to fit most people fairly well), they may be the best buy on today's marked for a used dedicated single-barrel trap gun.
Granted, we are replying to a very-old post here, but my opinions still stand.

Do your part, and all you need is one shot.

Keep in mind that this is coming from someone who buys a single box of slugs each year for deer season. 2 to check POA vs. POI, and 3 to hunt with. I only have extra boxes around for the folks I hunt with.

A single shot only means that you earned that second bird more.

The OP asked for opinions on a BT99 dedicated trap gun.
In American trap, you are only allowed one shot.
So, what's your point??

I'd love to, but there's the move i'm still recovering from, the wife starting as new job next week, and the daughter starting college in the mean time. Can't promise anything yet, but I'll at least make an effort to try to save up a little for the Spring session.

I Imagine I'd be a bit of a challenge for ya Bob. R\H most of my life, had to switch to left after going blind in the right one (Have doubts on the shape of the left one from time to time) so no depth perception, no bi-focal vision, and I haven't shot trap regularly in over 20 years. Sure you want to take that task on?
\
If nothing else, I'll try to make it for the company.
