Default Browning Auto 5 12 gauge value?

A friend of mine has an opportunity to pick up a 1964 Browning Auto 5 in 90% condition. It has the original warranty card filled out by the dealer showing it's sale price in 64 as $154.99

I would appreciate anyone with blue book access putting a fair market value to this longarm.

I have seen them for sale from $500, to over $1200. There is a Browning Auto 5 in 90% condition for sale on gunbroker right now for only $600. Browning Auto-5 Shotgun A-5 - USED 90% Condition : Semi Auto Shotguns at I don't know what year it is though. If your friend doesn't want to pay that much for one, you can get a old Remington model 11 for about $350. It is pretty much the same gun, just a different name.

Here are some pics. The first one is a Browning Auto 5, the second one is a Remingtone Model 11.

Was over visiting family for the holidays and we took out my grandfathers Auto 5. Man is that thing a beauty. I have always like the shape of the receiver.

Those Browning High Backs are classic...Browning was a genius.

I have a Browning B2000 which is pretty much a gas-op version of the recoil op A-5. Loading gate is on the left side though...kind of weird
