I picked up a Mossberg 500A "$300" brand new and put a ATI collapsible stock "$50 and about 10 min of time" and have to say this is one of my favorite weapons I have.

I was disappointed about the pump too but the tube switch wouldn't work right on a semi.

Remington 870 Express Tactical 12 ga., pump, swiss cheese maker can be had for $350.00 new. I put a Surefire forearm and light on it to see the holes through the swiss cheese

Go Mossberg 590. 8+1 mag capacity, heavy barrel, reinforced body... I have one, I freaking love it. Even has a bayonet lug Got mine for $530.

I agree. The Mossberg 590A1 is one bad hombre when it comes to tactical shotguns. I keep mine slugged up so if anyone has got the big brass ones to break into my house well the next thing he'll see is six feet of dirt over his sorry head.

True, but I think it would be difficult to bullpup a semi-auto shotgun.

Ah, I see. I wasn't aware of the full implication of a bullpup design.

I think you could still make a bullpup autoloader shotgun though. You'd just have to ditch using tubes and go to a mag like the Saiga.
