Dude, you're beginning to repeat yourself.

I know youre tired of hearing about how much better my nova is than youre 870. But it is.

Give us some details on why you feel the Benelli Nova is better shotgun. I have very little experience with the Nova.

I dont care what anyone says, I own a 870 desert tac recon which happens to be the only shotgun I have ever owned and its the BEST shotgun I have ever owned hands down...now dont argue with me because it is one you cannot win (no really...its better than all the other shotguns I have never owned lol)

Redundancy isn't the way to get your point across.
Arguing about personal preference is idiotic.

Is that why you resurrected this topic, just to start a fight?

Unless you just want something different the 870 would be the better choice. There have been many reports about Benelli USA not having good customer service. It can be very hard to get parts as well. Also there aren't many after market accessories for the Nova either.

On the other hand Remington has excellent customer service and 870 parts and accessories are plentiful. I would look for an older 870, one that is at least 10 years or older. The steel receiver on the 870 is a big plus for me.

The Mossberg 590A1 18.5" barrel would be a good choice as well. It has a aluminum receiver but the rest of the shotgun is built like a tank.

I wouldn't even consider a TriStar Cobra because has been getting some bad press. Here is a review written by a forum Moderator on the TriStar Cobra Pump.

The benelli feels better when put to my shoulder. Although that will very from person to person, the benelli holds a tighter pataren and cycles much smoother than the 870, also the trigger on the benelli is wider and feels much better than the 870. Also look at the newest shotgun from remington the 887 nitro mag looks to me like their trying to copy the benelli in which case they fell way short. Ive shot one of the new 887 nitro mags their crap. But think about that remington is trying to copy benelli why do you think that is? I belive it is because they know benelli offers the superior product. You should find someone with a benelli and do some shooting with one if you do it probally wont be long before you buy one.

DavidTurley, your above thread is mostly personal preference and speculation...I hope there's more details than a wider trigger, smoother action, and shot patterns? I agree that the Nova has a smoother action, but my 870 can pump as fast as any Nova out there. I haven't seen a big difference in shot patterns. What chokes are you using to compare? How far out is your target? As far as the wider trigger; personal preference.

Hey David, you won't get anywhere with UnderFire. He's an 870 Fanboy. You are wasting your breath. He and I had this same argument 2 months ago. Be the bigger man, and agree to disagree. He sure won't.
