Looking for some reviews, only found one saying the spring had to be cut to length, the follower, and sometimes shells would get hung up, and on the 870 a hole has to be drilled. But the review was from 2008. Looking for something newer, or folks who have used the extension and can comment to the positives or negatives...

Don't know about trimming the spring, but the "hole" referred to is drilling out the "nub" Remington puts in the mag tube on the "Express" shotguns to prevent extended tubes from being installed. Thie step only applies to the Express models.

Cool, the model I'm considering has a 2 shot factory extension. So I called Remington today. As it turns out, on the models with factory installed extensions, the detents in the magazine are already removed.
So all is well there.
