Another broken Gen II

All right, we broke the Gen II Spec ops stock today. Put a handful of mild handload slugs and 00 buck through it and it felt ok. I said we should shoot the Gen I and the Gen II side by side with my heaviest handload to test them because I really think my Gen I feels better. So I gave my bro a hot slug to shoot and loaded the other one into my 500. He pulled up, shot and it looked like the gun came right out of his hands….the grip came right off and I am not too surprised looking at how much actual “meat” there is holding the grip on. Apparently there is a recall but he was never notified of anything…..

Not much material to hold it together in that grip.

You will never see that happen with a wood stock.........

Good obsevation, you’ll never see a wood stock absorb felt recoil like a spec ops either.

12 GA recoil is not all it is lived up to be I shoot an over under with everything from light 8 shot to 3 in. Magnum loads and I'm 6 foot 140 lb.
It dose not help that one of the first guns I ever shot was my dads side by side with a metal but plat when i was 10 it kicked like a mule but got use 2 it now that is the secret.

Seems like a smart azz reply to a potentially smart azz reply. How good does your stock absorb recoil now? One picture is all it takes for me to know I want nothing to do with such a device.

IMHO if you are completely unable to handle the recoil of a 12 ga shotgun, get a 20 ga.

I was a bit smart ass…..The stock sucks now. Glad you came to the conclusion that you wouldn’t want such a device that is the sole reason I posed it….information share.

I will have to agree with you opinion. This stock isn’t about someone not being able to handle recoil. It is about quicker follow up shots. This is to illustrate that the Gen II has problems, the Gen I is solid.
Everything can break, I have even seen broken wood stocks. What are you trying to get at? Should I not be trying to pass this info here? If it is not of value I will remove it .

I have seen broken wood stocks on 2000$ Berettas and broken black guns it happens to all guns some less than others.
Also Im glad you past the info on glad to know to avoid the Gen 2.
