Default Aftermarket barrels for pardner pump?

Im thinking of getting a pardner pump, with a shorter barrel for SD. Am I able to get a longer barrel, say 28" for hunting or shooting trap? Will I have to modify an 870 barrel, which Im not afraid to do, I just need to learn how. I know both of these guns are very similar, I just want to make sure before I buy it, that I can get a longer barrel for it at a later time.

I bought the H&R pardner pump. It is very similar to the Remington 870. Most parts are interchangeable between the two, but from what I have read the barrel is not a direct fit. There will have to be some modification.

Default Main barrel differences

I have heard that many other parts are interchangeable. I am really wondering what the difference is between the two barrels and if its easily modified with a dremel to fit.

Does anyone know this info, or where to point me in the right direction?

try their website and see if barrels are available before you jump into modifying another to fit. also talk to some gunsmiths and see if it is possible to modify another brand of barrel to fit your shotgun. the results could be destructive to the gun and you. if you can't find the barrel from the manufacturer, try gunbroker.com.

I have a Pardner Pump. It's built like a tank. The barrel lug is in a different spot than the 870. Other than that everything is the same as the 870. I had my local smith cut 6" off mine and re-thread for chokes. Had dual beads installed like a Mossberg. I love it now.
