887 nitro mag or 870 express basic 3" magnum?

I cant decide between the 887 nitro mag 3 1/2" or a basic 3" 870 express with the supercell recoil pad.

Any rec's?

I don't own one but I have heard nothing but bad stuff about the 887 and I did shoot one with a 3 1/2" and it kicks like a mule...If you are set on one of these two guns I would get the 870....I would recommend the benelli nova, Winchester super x pump, or the stoeger p350

I have heard that water gets between the polymer coating and the barrel and receiver and will rust bad....and honestly you are the first person who I have heard that actually likes theirs lol

I have taken mine hunting in the rain, snow and never had anything rust. If people have rust then obviously they are not taking care if it. After all there is some metal involved. :)

If you are going to get a 870 try to get it used and made between 1970 and 1980. The newer 870 have been getting a bad reputation because of a lack of quality control.
