Default 870 barrel

Is there any difference between a 870 barrel and a 870 express barrel ?

Only in the finish - Wingmasters are blued and 870 express are dull black; parts are interchangeable

i think the finish is the biggest difference. the Express having a bead blasted and matte finish, vs. the polished and blued finish on the 870 Wingmaster. IIRC, the barrels will interchange as far as fitting but the finishes won't match. this applies as long as they have the same recievers in size and gauge.

Just the finish, fit should be the same. If by 870 you mean a Wingmaster it will be glossier than the Express barrel.

Thanks, thats what I was thinkin. I have another question about it too. Can you shoot 2 3/4 shells if the barrel is chambered in 3 inch ? I do believe the barrel I have now says 2 3/4 or 3 inch but most of the ones I see on midway just say 3 inch

you can shoot either in a 3" chamber. but not a 3" in a 2 3/4" chamber.

Isn't the only difference between the 2 3/4 only receiver and 3" receiver is the extractor?

As long as we are talking 12 ga, I believe the above are correct. 20 ga is a whole different ball game though. 20 ga old style, wingmaster, LT, Express all use different barrels
