My LGS has a 500 in the case for $299 new.

Id rather get it for 300 to 350 in the current market. U may want to try talking him down or waiting for a better deal or the prices to go down

That's not a bad deal I have almost $400 in my used Winchester1300 with a rifled barrel and a vent rib barrel....I bought the gun with just a rifled barrel for $200 then ordered the new vent rib barrel for Turkey hunting and it was $160 but it's what I wanted and It is only a 24" vent rib which is really hard to find used so I just bought a new one

The cheapest I've seen that combo was $389, so ya that's a a good deal.

Bottom line? You couldn't have done much better in any way, shape or form than what you got at a fair price.

Mossbergs will last you a life time. It's a great price for a shotgun. In my opinion its probably the toughest shotgun out there as far as taking abuse from the user.
