Not knowing your preferences for budget, I would think any good collection of WW2 era rifles should have a M1 Garand and a M1-Carbine......

Bar

A BAR would be cool:) ...But out of my reach. I would have to second the Garand and carbine. Maybe a nice 1903 decked in sniper attire?

I've really been kicking around the idea of a k31. While it's been called "the greatest rifle that never saw combat" it was in service with the swiss during WWII. But, in rifles that actually saw service, I'd say the M1 or 1903.

I ve got a nice 1903 A3, now I need a Garand, and a M1 carbine. I also have a SVT 40, russian, MK 4 long branch enfield, british, and of course a mauser, german.

Svt has been a gun that I have always wanted but has been hard to fine. The k31 is my next choice

M1 Garand, M1 Carbine, 1903 Springfield, Swiss K31, Steyr 95, Carcano, Arisaka, and so on. One rifle I've always wanted from WWII is the PTRS41. I know a fellow in Danville, Virginia, who owns the Tank Museum in Danville, and part of his WWII firearms collection includes the PTRS41. He ocassionally has a big extravaganza where all sorts of his firearms are fired and he let me keep one of the empty cartridge shells from when he fired the PTRS41.

A Garand.

My very first rifle was a Garand, so my taste may be warped,

but with a collection like that, you need it.

IMO, you'll like it, too.
