I have an old 740 Woodsmaster in 30-06 and it is a good rifle. But as far as quality I believe the Browning to be of better.
I general, neither of the two are as accurate as a bolt gun but never the less they are good hunting rifles. The Brownings just reap of quality in my opinion. I would buy the Browning if I were looking at buying a new gun. I have the Woodsmaster because I got a good deal on it with a good scope for $350.00 a couple of years ago.

Today, we need a nation of Minutemen, citizens who are not only prepared to take arms, but citizens who regard the preservation of freedom as the basic purpose of their daily life and who are willing to consciously work and sacrifice for that freedom."

As a former 742 owner on 30-06.......I would say BAR!
