I also have a RFB. The gas system sucks. It needs to be reset for every different round that I want to shoot. Its clean, but its a short piston gas system, and requires constant adjustment. The Tavor doesnot and shoot any kind of ammo.

JMHO
Thanks for all of the additional info. Appreciate you taking the time to answer my questions.

I really like the QD mount that comes on it. I read in the manual that the mount is calibrated to the optic at the factory. I've never seen that on another optic. Post some pics please when you get a chance.
Sorry this is not good photography, only gives an idea. The amber triangle came out smaller but brighter than it really is. The M21 frame seems all polymer. It is not QD on the IDF model, but is sold with a QD mount for the railed SAR (sp?) model. I just read, there are now 4 reticle options, incl. the triangle, crosshairs, plain dot, and something else.

I'm enjoying reading this thread, a standard bull pup may not be for me, but I've considered a shotgun bull pup for HD. Does anyone have any experience? Some of the Saiga versions look cool but expensive, perhaps an 870 version?

A friendly dealer talked me out of getting one in 12 ga. It was the only time they called any firearm too loud. It would be cool like video game cool but not worth the triple expense for HD. It's not like we live in cubicles. Even if we were there are pistol grip pumps for $$$ less. Better spent the pocket burning cash on something you'd enjoy taking outdoors, so I did

Interesting thread. Despite the disadvantages some have brought up, I am getting a Steyr AUG with a left hand bolt when my tax return comes through.

Nice pics Mercator! I believe the 4th reticle option is a bullseye (a inside of a ○).

IMO, a good BP is nice to have in your rifle collection.

Thought I would throw up some pictures of my BP. MSAR Stg-556 with Promoted Pawn Optics Rail and Promoted Pawn QD sling swivels. Most of the mags are AUG 42 rounders. The others are a MSAR 30 rounder and an MSAR 10 rounder.

Next I need a side Picatinny rail (6 inch), a good set of BUIS, and a Trijicon TA33G-H ACOG. I've heard that SAW ammo pouches hold 4 42 round mags perfectly, so I need a few of those pouches and some more mags as well. After that I'll throw a sling on her. The last thing I want are the RatWorx USA mods: enhanced bolt, enhanced bolt shroud, enhanced trigger pack, and Manticore charging handle.

She's got a 1/8 5.56 NATO barrel so she'll eat anything I put in her. I haven't put enough rounds down range to be positive of her favorite food though.

The reason bullpups won't catch on in the civilian market is the short sight radius which makes them difficult to shoot. Many carbines are as short as a bullpup. Plus the carbines are much easier to shoot and reload. Someone might make a bullpup and sell a bunch of them. But bullpups will never catch on with competitive shooters. They will be sold to the crowd that wants to have a gun no one else owns and the mall ninja crowd.
