Lol I'm sorry I'm gonna take this post as a joke. Stay away from Calico's if you're looking for a good assault rifle.

In a shtf scenario, the most available resupply will be the 223,308,9mm,45,5,28x39, the 7,62x39 is not a MBR that is issued any longer, the MBR for the Eastern Bloc Countries is the AK 74, I dont know what the mbr for the Chinese is, might still be the 7.62x39.Alot of the other rounds will not be available when it hits the fan, so when the rounds are gone, no resupply, that is why you need to get only the rounds that the opposition uses.

I'm a lil curious who you think the opposition is going to be? I'm not gonna state the obvious that makes me think this.

well, just look around you, and ck the various other news than the established news, you sure wont get it there, it is a known fact that there are already Foreign Troops here and have equipment here too,In fact they are training with our guard units on how to control civil unrest. The info is out there, just not in the mainstream media.

just... please dont say china, i am so sick and tired of hearing people fear mongering over a 2nd world country (which IS what china is classified as) who just happens to have alot of people. I hate to break it to you but china and inda hate eachother and according to estimates india will have a larger population than china in a few years. This is convenient as india (according to a recent poll i think i saw on here a few months ago) love america more than americans love america. So if china gets upitty india and more than likely russia are going to put china back down before they ever land foot on american soil. If there is going to be a foreign country invade america it will more than likely be the european union, of whom some would side with us but most would be against us. The evidence is there and the fires have been building for decades. it will happen eventually, the only question is when, and how.

edit: the most obvious attempt of subterfuge against america by the eu is the euro. It was a clear attempt to disvalue the dollar and destroy america's economy, and almost did.

hmm.. well, whoever it is, it doesnt matter what kind of gun you have at the beginning of the scenario. once you start racking up some patriotic kills you can just take the badguys guns and use them and have endless ammo as long as you keep fighting

Right now I have a AR with a FACOG mounted on it. I get more than good groups with it at 100 yards (5/8"), so combat accuracy is there. I am in the market for a good 7.62x39, mainly for shooting hogs at close range. I think it the SHTF, I would want my AR with me over an AK, but I wouldn't mind having both if the situation would allow.

I am in the same boat as you! except im stationed in cali and as active duty military we have permits that allow us to get different weapons in cali as long as we are stationed here just have to jump thru some hoops. but since this is about which one id have. personally id have to say both! i want something that shoot 7.62nato/.308(great for hunting too) and something that shoot 5.56nato/.223 so me personally i want a socom 16 and a sig 556. plus id have my xdm with me too!

also consider that here alot of the fight would be cqc in your area or neighborhood. 556 will go thru most walls but 762 you can get um thru some houses/barricades
