Im not sure how to take apart a m2 carbine? Can anyone help

First, if you have a US Carbine M2, and are in the US,I hope it is registered with the BATFE- since they were select fire full autos.

With the exception of the added controls for the full auto, they come apart pretty much as the M1 carbine. Here's how- http://www.surplusrifle.com/m1carbine/rifledisassembly/index.asp

PS- Do NOT attempt to remove gas piston.

I'm pretty sure there's something wrong with my magazine because it doesn't feed through it right it gets jammed

1. It is a bit unusual to have someone that owns a firearm worth several thousand dollars, but does not know how to field strip it. Last M2 I saw was about $6,000. Hence the question.

2. The gas piston in the US Carbines can be removed. But if you do not have a bit of armorer's equipment called a Gas Pistol Tool, you will NOT get it back in. Was not made to be user removable.

3. Bad magazine, or bent mag lips may be the problem. What ammo are you shooting? And which mag- small, medium, or large?

Well I recently bought it from my uncle that bought it years ago but he moved to Georgia and I haven't had anyone show me how to. I have been looking how to take it apart but no luck. So that helped.

I'm shooting remington 110 grain. The magazine is a 30 round magazine and it is a little bent. I'm gonna look around for more mags tomorrow

The 30 round mags are curved- but mags get dirty too, need cleaning inside- and I am not a big fan of the 30s myself.

Be sure to make some copies of your BATF tax paperwork, and keep a COPY with you when you take the carbine out. Put the original somewhere safe- like a safety deposit box.

Will sure do. Will m1 carbine mags work in the m2? If so ill just pick up a couple 15 round mags
