Stumped

For you "Name that gun" players and watchers of Strike Back on Cinemax;

In season 3 there is a rifle that has me stumped. Obvious Czech lineage PDW sized rifle. Receiver has the lines of a Vz-58, but MUCH smaller. Stanag magazine obviously in 5.56mm. What say you?

No picture?

If you can capture a pic, I will ask my gunsmith. Or, I am very familiar with rifles from this side of the pond.

This one?

CZ makes an AK too. High quality and slimmer on the furniture. Maybe a CZ.

Top pic is an AK varient. The bottom pic is a Vz-58. They were featured quite extensively in season 2. This one has the same receiver lines and charging handle of the Vz-58, but is obviously using a mag from an M-16.

Very small platform, short barrel. Like a PDW type gun.

The gun on the right;

Yep, CZ. There is a mention of a...
Útočná puška ("assault rifle") ÚP-Z 70: Experimental 5.56×45mm NATO version developed in 1970.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vz._58

CZ makes a tactical "black rifle" for their AKs

robocop10mm 09-02-2013 10:05 PM

Yes, I saw that. No pic and the size would not have been in line with the doctrine of 1970. This size gun would be more of a 90's thing

Jagermeister 09-02-2013 10:18 PM

Maybe?
