Springfield M1A with GI walnut stock.

Happy New Year to all. I have an offer to buy a M1A with match bbl. and GI walnut stock with the selective fire cutout for $995 + tax. It is super clean and comes with a 10 and 20 rnd. Springfield mag(s). I've been wanting one for years and this seems like a good deal. Do I keep saving and buy a new one for 5-600 more dollars or just get this one now? The model is a MA-9201 made in 1996-97. They were a standard loaded promo deal at the time before the regular "loaded" M1As were offered. Feel free to chime in.

Robo,

That certainly sounds like a "great deal" to me! :D It probably is a fantastic rifle and if it looks like it has barely been used that is a great deal and no worries. But if it has a lot of wear signs I would want to check the muzzle erosion on it with a muzzle erosion gauge.

Buy it. Lifetime warranty.

Yeah, if I had the money in hand, it'd be all mine.

Make damn sure it (the rifle) can be field striped .PULL the trigger guard down, and remove the trigger group. I BOUGHT a M1a many years ago and ran into a big !problem A small pin in the trigger group shifted, and this prevented me from taking down the rifle.

If all is well with this rifle it sounds like a good deal.
