Default Sig 716

I was looking at a new Sig 716 while waiting for my roommate at Academy today and instantly fell in love with it. The one thing that I wasn't sure of those was the lower said "7.62 NATO". Would this be safe for .308 as well or would I have to stick with 7.62x51 only if I end up getting it at some point soon

I personally wouldn't but other people do so it just depends on you and your gun.

I went ahead and got a quick google search in while on my dinner break, and the evaluation test I read from http://sadefensejournal.com/wp/?p=1290&page=2 implied that they shot .308 and 7.62x51 through it

You will get some very rabid responses on both sides of this question. Personally, I believe the NATO stuff is preferred. Most .308 ammo in the 165 gr and lighter should be ok, SHOULD. Avoid the the "light magnum" superformance kind of stuff.

If it says "SIG" on the receiver, I would buy it sight unseen.

And again, if you avoid the so-called "light magnum," you'll be fine.

Buy that SIG, and ENJOY!
