Balistics are similar with about the same amount of range so I would go with the 9mm because its cheaper and you can get the 33rd magazines for it.

I am in the market for one as well. If you are looking used or local they are hard to find but Cdnn has them for 299.99.

I was given this little carbine, I've changed the stock (bigger trigger guard opening) but kept the sights, as you can see its fun to shoot, least my daughter thinks it is.
the coldest weve shot was -26F it loves all types and brands of 9mm so far we have'nt got it to choke on any particular bullet type, loves the 124gr'ers
even the family dog enjoys a outing for some fun
had it since 2005 I'd buy another only if the caliber was .45acp
