Defaultruger 44 mag?

thinking about buying a 44 mag rifle like the ruger cabine.or lever gun .how about the carbine good n bad? alos whats a fair price.on one. thanks for yalls help .

I have a carbine made in 1961 peep site model. You should expect to pay from 350$ (good price) to 500$ for them, depending on the condition. I wouldn't take 5,000$ for mine. It's (in MY opinion) the deadliest short range deer gun in existence. Mine is topped with an equally old (El Paso) Weaver K2.5 mounted low.

It's a great carbine. See if you can get an older one with the tube magazine rather than a newer rotary magazine model. You will love it.

Defaultold style?

were can i find pic of old style ruger carbine ?all ive found so far is the newer ones like the 10/22 s i guess .like to see pic so when i run across one i can spot it in say pawn shop .my pawpaw hunted with one of the 44 ruger n wouldnt tote anything else .he claimed he could just pull up an shoot his 44 and it was on every time .and guess there was some thing to it cause he rarely shot n didnt leave somthing layen there .so as ive got older ive about decided .whats works is better than the newest gun out n best scope i could get or all that crap ive ben blowen my $ on threw the yrs .simple is better .

The 1s that look like a 10/22 and don't have a heatshield or detachable mag IS the older style.

got one of the old style ruger 44. one of the top guns in my collection. its kinda like a M1 carbine taht can actually do something helluva a fun shooter.
