I know what you mean, I wish that of my rifles too, so much history. Its funny trying to explain that to someone that doesn't understand, like my buddies, when I tell them how much I spend on some rifles they give me hell.......... You could have bought an AR.....or an AK......or a Glock....or....... Then I ask why would I do that when I could own a tangible piece of history?? They look at me like cavemen.....they have no concept of what some of these guns, and the men who carried them, went through.

Is that a K98 next to it and a Romanian VZ-24 next to that?? I can't really see that short one, then an M48 after that??? I like this game, wish my eyes were better

I'll try to get some pics of my stuff up later this week.

As the Mausers go, from left to right it's a Kar98a, a K98k that's 98% (totally matching non-import 1939 date ) but cut 4" short by the vet who brought it back so that he could hunt deer with it. (I still sob over this some nights)
Then there's an Israeli Mauser followed by an early Yugo M98 that I bought way back before the flood of imports came in and paid--of course--way more than they sell for now.

I definitely need more Mausers. And the short one's for sale now, so PM if interested. I'm looking hard for a Boer-marked Mauser but I stupidly let the last nice one that I saw go by and I have not seen another in over four years.

I didn't know the Israelis put finger grooves on some of their stocks, I have an Israeli K98 that you can still make out some of the Nazi markings on, but no finger grooves.

This one is a peach. Non-import, S/42 "G" date rifle with a practically new stock and fresh parkerizing, still sporting a Hebrew sticker that identifies it as property of an armored division. Shoots great, too.
