I actually blame my wife. She tells me to buy whatever I want since I make the money. So it is her fault we live in a 40 year old rusty trailer and drive (push?) a rusty Gremlin and a rusty Pacer. I'd love to upgrade to a Yugo someday, but the cost of ammo is holding me back.

But seriously, I wouldn't marry a woman I had to lie to. My wife rocks, and doesn't care what I buy as long as the bills are paid, the kids are fed, etc.

And as long as I keep getting guns that look alike she'll never know. It's the first 2 that look the same that are the hardest. After that, they all look alike. Ha.

One of my favorite all around rifles is one of my Mini-14s. This one I have had for around 14 years. All work was done in my shop by me. Action is bedded, and the trigger group has also been worked. Front sight narrowed to .070" and has Williams rear target sight. Muzzle brake is a prototype of mine as well as the barrel strut. Took it out and shot it today for the first time in months and as you can see by the 50 yard target, it is very accurate. The group measures in at .715 without the called flier. At 100 yards using the SR-21 target, I can hold 1 1/2" or better. It is 100% reliable and one that I can count on when SHTF. Here are a few photos. LETS SEE SOME MORE MINIs out there.

mbpike,
Nice looking mini, you did it proud. The Mini-14 can be a great platform for all kinds of mods. Looks like yours is set up to be your main defense (WSHTF) rifle. It will not let you down...............The ACCU STRUT and muzzle brake will improve the accuracy quite a bit. Would like to see you post a few 50 and 100 yard targets when it is complete.

Jim..............

Thank ya Psmith. I ordered a muzzle brake that should be here this week. I'm holding off on the accustrut untill the wife gets off materinty leave. I am going to order the 1911 bushing and a wolf spring today I think.
