He picked it up in the states during MOB training. He's our squad marksman, and I sometimes spot for him. Not like a real spotter, but pretty much an extra pair of eyes to watch his back while he watches everyone else. He loves the glass. He's got a WalMart smiley face on the front cover. Our old Air Force EOD guy kept trying to get him to accidentally "loose" it so he could throw it on his M1A back home. Most guys running around here are using newer scopes and crazy collapsible stocks with rails hanging off everything. Our armorer has one for him, but he likes to keep his old school. It's funny because he's a little guy, and when we go through a village he'll sling the 21 and use his M9; and his barrel almost touches the ground!
Too cool. Your buddy gets to use a piece of living history in that M21/ART2 combo. I'd love to know which of the fab 4 made his M21 (Harrington & Richardson, TRW, Winchester, or Springfield Armory),and whose barrel is on it (along with markings). But only if convenient.
